We understand that the nature of family life means that it get complicated very quickly and it can sometimes be difficult for those in the family to make sense of this. When someone in the family is experiencing problems this has a ripple effect and can impact on relationships between family members and their wider network.
Family Therapy can be helpful for families who are struggling. It is a form of psychotherapy that is offered in a way that is unique to each family we meet. While this type of therapy is about helping families we can also offer our service to individuals and couples to help them work with the difficulties and problems they are experiencing.
The Social Workers who work in the Gateway Service and Family Intervention Service can ask us to meet with a family to talk through the difficulties and problems they are experiencing. You can ask your Social Worker for this service if you think it is what you want. We meet with families across the Trust area in a number of locations to try to make the service as accessible as possible.
