Chemotherapy Services

Chemotherapy Services are situated in a purpose-built facility within the North West Cancer Centre, with an extensive on-site cancer team to manage patients closer to home.

Chemotherapy Services is made up of the Sperrin Suite Outpatient Department, Triage Service, and Ward 50 Inpatients.

Sperrin Outpatient Department

The Sperrin Suite delivers systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT), and is situated on the Ground Floor of the North West Cancer Centre. The environment is made up of an open-plan treatment area with 25 chairs and access to five single treatment rooms.

The Sperrin Suite is operational Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Triage Service

Our Triage service is based at North West Cancer Centre and delivers a 24-hour telephone assessment and advice to Oncology and Haematology patients.

The triage telephone helpline is operated by Registered Nurses from the Triage helpline service and Ward 50, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Ward 50

Ward 50 provides inpatient care for Oncology and Haematology patients, and is situated on Level 1 of the North West Cancer Centre.

Ward 50 has the capacity for 27 beds, operational seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Daily visiting times are 3.00pm-4.00pm, and 7.00pm-8.30pm.

Cancer Support in the West

We want to ensure and encourage people who have been affected by cancer to seek and find the help they need, whether that is spiritual support, counselling, complementary therapies or financial advice – if there is an issue that you are concerned about, organisations are out there to help you.

There are a range of organisations that provide Cancer Support in the West. We are very grateful for these organisations for the important role they play providing emotional and often practical support to people when they receive a cancer diagnosis, throughout treatment and after finishing treatment.
