Our Service
Infection Prevention and Control is a key priority for the Western Trust. The Trust works to ensure that staff adhere to policies, evidence based guidelines and protocols designed to reduce healthcare associated infections. The Trust incorporates a range of evidence based and regional guidance into the local infection reduction strategy. In addition there are robust audit and accountability systems to monitor adherence to written guidance and where required to provide educational input in a program of continuous improvement.
The Trust has made very significant reductions in monitored health care associated infections and is committed to achieving further reductions.
