Easy Read
A new community transport service is now available!
This is to allow people with little or no access to public transport or their own private transport to attend health appointments in the Western Trust Area.
The Rural Links to Health & Wellbeing community transport service, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund is being delivered by Easilink Community Transport.
The Rural Links to Health and Wellbeing service is a subsidised community transport service that aims to help people in the Easilink area with limited access to public transport or their own private transport to attend hospital appointments in Altnagelvin, Omagh and South West Acute hospitals and any other health related appointments in the Western Trust area.
The Rural Links to Health and Wellbeing Service is delivered by a pool of volunteer car drivers, and we have accessible vehicles for those with mobility issues. We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our service users and are following all the necessary protocols to ensure that they can travel safely.

Rural Links to Health & Wellbeing
A new subsidised community transport service to help people in the Easilink area to attend Hospital and health appointments in the Western Trust area.
What is the service?
The Rural Links to Health & Wellbeing service is a new community transport service funded by The National Lottery Community Fund and delivered by Easilink Community Transport.
The aim of the service is to help people who do not have access to public transport or their own private transport to attend Hospital Appointments and other health appointments across the Western Trust area.
The new service will be delivered primarily by our volunteer car drivers, and we have accessible vehicles for those with mobility issues.
Who can use the service?
Anyone who lives in the Easilink operational area (Omagh, Strabane and rural Derry/Londonderry) and does not have access to public transport or their own private transport can avail of the service.
New clients must register as an Easilink member in advance, in order to avail of the new service.
Where can I travel to?
Qualifying clients (living in the Easilink area, with no access to public or private transport), can use the service to attend Hospital Appointments in Altnagelvin, Omagh and South West Acute hospitals, or any other health appointments in the
Western Trust area.Unfortunately the service is not available to attend private health appointments or Hospitals outside the Western Trust area.
What does it cost?
The subsidised fares are outlined below:

Yes, a friend, carer or family member can travel for free with the person attending the appointment.
Unfortunately this applies to one friend, carer or family member only – any additional passengers must pay the fare as outlined above.How do I book?

When should I book?
Bookings must be made at least 2 days before the date of
your appointment.N.B. we strongly advise that clients make their bookings as early as

How to access the service:
Referrals can be made by contacting our office and we accept these from a variety of sources e.g. Health Trusts, GPs, Universities/Colleges and other agencies. We also take self-referrals.Referral Criteria:
- You must have a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or currently be awaiting an assessment for an ASC
- You must be 18 years of age or over
- You must be living independently or in the process of moving into and managing your own home
