What is Involvement?

Involvement is about carers, service users and staff working together to plan services for you. People with a Learning Disability who are over 18 years of age and their Carers
come together in Local Involvement Groups. Your views are important to us.

The views of each group are shared at a Strategic Involvement Group meeting attended by senior staff in the WHSCT. Your Local Involvement Group needs as many voices as possible to make it thrive and be truly representative.

Our Local Involvement Groups meet in Fermanagh, Omagh, Strabane, Derry/Londonderry and Limavady approximately 8 times per year.

Our Involvement Team will support you to become involved.

  • Involvement Update - June 2022
  • Evaluation of Involvement Update - January 2022

    Dear all,

Noelle Donnell of Hummingbird NI has been successful with her proposal to Evaluate our Involvement Model. Noelle had an impressive proposal and we are excited to get this Evaluation started.

The Project Initiation meeting was held with Noelle on 10th Jan with the Steering Group who will oversee the timely delivery of the report (Julie McGinty, Jonathan McGuigan, Deirdre Kelly, Martin McCrory and Ammie Storey (Carer and Chair of Fermanagh LIG).

Noelle is currently designing a questionnaire and will be aiming to set up a series of 6 x Focus groups and a number of one- to-one Interviews at end Jan/Feb.

The focus groups (5 x LIG members and 1x staff members) will be arranged via Jonathan and Deirdre and myself so please expect an invitation.

The report is on track to be completed by end of March and we plan to bring all members together in April for a presentation of the findings of the report.

We will keep you updated on the progress over the next few months.

    Kind regards,

    Julie McGinty
