World IBD Day 19 May 2025

Western Trust IBD Nurse Specialists help raise awareness to mark World Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Day (19 May 2025)

Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are the two main Inflammatory Bowel Diseases which affect over half a million people in the UK with 25,000 more diagnosed each year. Yet, despite this, Crohn’s and Colitis are misunderstood and stigma, fear and isolation  around the conditions still exists.

Special Cupcakes To Mark World IBD Day 19 May 2025This year the Charity Crohns Colitis UK (CCUK), are focusing on “Courage” within IBD. Courage comes in many forms; whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, seeking answers for ongoing symptoms, managing a flare or sharing your experience with others, each day brings its own challenges and can be difficult. It takes determination to manage these unpredictable conditions, and CCUK want to celebrate that step of courage along with your IBD team of nurses, doctors, pharmacists, allied health professionals on World IBD on 19th May.

World IBD Day helps to raise vital awareness, education, support and stands with the Crohn’s and Colitis community.
