Interim Director of Children and Families and Executive Director of Social Work
Kevin Duffy has been Interim Executive Director of Social Work for the Western Health and Social Care Trust since October 2026. A qualified social worker since 2002, he has over 30 years of experience across both adult and children’s services, with the majority of his career spent within Family and Childcare Services supporting children, young people and families.
Prior to his current role, Kevin served as Assistant Director for Children’s Health and Disability Services, providing strategic leadership across Children with Disabilities Services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Children and Young People’s Autism Services and Public Health Services.
Throughout his career, Kevin has held frontline, management and senior leadership roles across safeguarding, family support, looked after children, child protection and specialist children’s services. He is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people through high-quality, rights-based services and to ensuring that children’s voices are heard in decisions that affect their lives.
Kevin provides professional leadership for Social Work services across the Trust and is committed to compassionate leadership, continuous improvement, workforce development and collaborative working with children, families, staff and partner organisations to deliver safe, effective and person-centred services.
