Our Vocational Training Team Annual Awards Ceremony took place on Friday 19th September 2025 at the Mellon Country Inn, Omagh, Co Tyrone which celebrates the commitment and dedication of staff to learn and improve their skills and competencies to support them in their caring/administrative roles across the Western Trust area.
During 2024/2025, over one hundred and thirty four staff achieved vocational qualifications in a range of occupational areas including:
OCNNI Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills- OCNNI Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia
- OCNNI Level 3 Award in Health & Social Care (End of Life)
- OCNNI Level 3 Certificate in Healthcare Support Practice
- OCNNI Level 3 Certificate in Business and Administration Skills
- OCNNI Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Practice
- OCNNI Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- OCNNI Level 4 Diploma in working in Adult Care
OCNNI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Adults ‘Residential Management)- OCNNI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Adults’ Management)
- OCNNI Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
- OCNNI Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
- Essential Skills in Numeracy
- Essential Skills in Literacy
- Open University K102- Introduction to Health & Social Care, (Level 4)
Staff also successfully completed Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy qualifications and the Open University’s Level 4 Introduction to Health & Social Care (K102) which is run in conjunction with Unison.
At the Awards Ceremony the certificates were presented by the Trust’s Director of Human Resources and Organisation Development, Mrs Karen Hargan. Karen congratulated all the recipients and thanked everyone who supported them towards their achievements. Mrs Riona Santiago, Assistant Director, Organisation & Workforce Development also praised certificate recipients for their hard work and dedication to continuous learning and thanked the Trust’s Vocational Training Team for supporting learners throughout the year.
Also many thanks to RCN, OCNNI, Unison and a special thanks to OCNNI for sponsoring the ACE (Approach, Commitment, Engagement) Award which was won by William Patrick, Health Care Assistant based at Four Oaks, Omagh.
