Successful 5 Star Community Group BBQ

25/05/2022

5 Star Members

5 Star members, their families , carers and friends, met for a BBQ on Friday night 20th May 2022 at Omagh Rugby Club, with the kind permission of Mr Alan Duncan, chairperson of the club. This was the first Social night for 5 star members since March 2020.

There was a Graduation ceremony for new members, star members performed a song from the greatest Showman and Megan Crozier, a member performed an Ed Sheeran Song – all received standing ovations. 150 attended this event and all enjoyed the evening.

Local businesses donated the food including Lisdargan Meats and Gortrush Foods – all co-ordinated by Mrs Joan Noble from the “River front Café” to whom we are all  very grateful. We would also like to thank all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes.

This night would not have been possible if it had not been for the sponsors and parents and friends of 5 star, who worked hard to make the night a success.

The Club voluntary leaders in charge, Eva Smyth and Avril Barton,  and volunteers Margaret Wilkinson, Noreen O’Doherty, Darren McConnell and Melanie Kee would like to thank all those who supported us in making this a night to remember.

Mr David McKinley, our resident DJ, provided the Disco for entertainment. As you can see from our photos a great night was had by all.

5 Star is a self-funding group run by volunteers in the Omagh Station centre, Monday’s 4PM – 6PM, we unfortunately have a waiting list at present as the group has reached capacity.
