Director of Children and Families and Executive Director of Social Work
Dr Cassidy has been the permanent Director of Children & Families and Executive Director of Social Work in the Western Trust since May 2022.
With over 40 year’s experience as a social worker, both in London and Northern Ireland, Dr Cassidy has worked at every grade from social worker to director throughout his career.
He is registered as a social worker with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council and has a doctorate from Queens University, Belfast, undertaking research into practice models within the residential childcare arena.
He is currently a Governor of Oakgrove Integrated Primary School in Derry.
