Our Adult Learning Disability Service is very proud of Service User Ryan McCann who is enjoying his new role as a part-time receptionist at the newly refurbished Omagh Centre.
Ryan is 32 years old and is from Carrickmore. Ryan has a visual impairment and requires the use of a specially adapted walking aid. He is very popular with staff and service users at the Omagh Centre and has a very bubbly outgoing personality. Ryan is now working one morning a week at the Centre which provides day opportunities for Adult Learning Disability Service Users from Omagh and outreach areas. Ryan is a very familiar face at the Centre where he attends three days per week and he has really excelled in his role meeting and greeting visitors to the Centre and answering the telephone.
Marie Barron, Ryan’s Social Worker explains:
“We are delighted that Ryan has been able to take up part-time employment at the Omagh Centre. Adaptations have been in place to the switchboard with the support of Brian Hughes from the Trust’s Sensory Support Services and Sandra Milligan, Senior Day Care Worker. We are extremely proud of Ryan and wish him all the best in his new role. Well done Ryan.”
