Rowan Villa Day Opportunities provides a wide range of activities and programs, in a social and creative environment, which supports service users through their mental health recovery journey.
The facility is located on the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital site in Omagh.
Sinead Walmsley, Registered Mental Health Nurse Manager at Rowan Villa explains:
“The main aim of services here at Rowan Villa is to provide clients with personal development work, social therapeutic programs and skills with emphasis placed on service user empowerment, personal responsibility, based on a recovery model. A needs assessment and personal support program will be developed in partnership with the key worker, carer, client and other agencies involved in supporting the service user through their recovery journey.
“Rowan Villa is an integral part of the Western Trust Mental Health Recovery Service and all service users are required to be attached to the Recovery Mental Health team
We have very experienced social care workers Linda and Morna who share their creativity and skills to empower our clients to develop their talents and help build their personal tool box, to enhance and maintain continued mental wellbeing. Along with Sean McCullagh, Registered Mental Health Nurse who supports clients in many of the outdoor activities and the Workshop
Social events of client interest / benefit are organized throughout the year.
Clients can choose what days either morning or afternoon sessions which run every Monday to Friday. There are a vast range of activities and programmers on offer including Arts & Crafts; Baking; Bowling , Flower arranging , Fully equipped gym; gardening; mindfulness and relaxation. We also run the very popular Football Club; Pool; Golf; cycling; fishing; walking group and social outings so there really is something for everyone to enjoy.
