Mental Health Awareness Week Coffee Morning Recovery College Omagh Volunteers

Our Recovery College is delighted to host a number of Coffee Mornings to mark Mental Health Awareness Week (12-18 May 2025).

Roisin O’Hanlon, Recovery College Coordinator at the Western Trust said:

“We warmly welcomed clients, volunteers and staff to join us at our Coffee Mornings to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. It was lovely to see everyone enjoy a cuppa and a chat. It is so important to have the opportunity to connect and develop friendships and support for each other and we look forward to meeting you during this week.

Mental Health Awareness Week Coffee Morning StrabaneCoffee Mornings were held at Strabane Library (Tuesday), Fermanagh House, Enniskillen (Wednesday), Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Limavady (Thursday) and Holywell Trust, Derry/Londonderry (Friday).

Highlighting the Recovery College Spring/Summer 2025 Prospectus Roisin explained:

“The Recovery College continues to offer mental health and wellbeing education and learning programmes for everyone throughout the Western Trust area – whether you have a mental health diagnosis or not; whether you care for someone with mental health difficulties or whether you want to increase your knowledge and skills around looking after your mental health and wellbeing. All our courses are co-produced and co-facilitated by people with lived experience and mental health professionals, which provides an understanding of mental health from a wider angle. We continue to be grateful for the support, time, experience and knowledge that is given from our students, peer educators, volunteers and staff within the community and the Western Trust area who help make the Recovery College so meaningful.

“We have a full timetable of courses and workshops open to all – those who use services, people with mental health issues whether diagnosed or otherwise, carers and supporters, students, health professionals – in fact anyone who is interested in improving or maintaining good mental health. The Recovery College offers hope and opportunity to everyone who attends within the community and everyone is welcome to visit at any time.”
