The Western Digital Safeguarding Steering Group is a collective of statutory, community and voluntary sector organisations within the Western Trust area. We are committed to making technology a safer place for everyone through the delivery of evidence-based training, awareness raising, campaigns and promotion of consistent and balanced messages.

Training
We deliver high-quality training, events and webinars focused on educating practitioners about safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults in the online world. This training is open to professionals who work in the Western Trust area who work directly with children and families. The training is open to professionals in the statutory, voluntary and community sector. Our training is consistently well-reviewed and is delivered by professionals who have completed CEOP Ambassador training with expertise in their respective fields, including child protection, suicide prevention and mental wellbeing.

Resources
The SBNI Online Safety Hub is a one-stop platform for resources, tools and advice in Northern Ireland, including those that have been developed by our group. There is information for carers, parents and professionals as well as for young people themselves.
The platform allows any issues or concerns about a young person to be reported directly and offers advice for parents, carers and practitioners in the event of a disclosure or incident. To visit the Hub, click here.
