Fight For Life make special donation of two ‘Cuddle Cots’ to Western Trust Maternity Services at Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex
Fight For Life is a local (Omagh) charity that helps local people. It is made of many volunteers who wish to support their community. The charity felt that the Omagh and surrounding areas required additional support for Bereaved Families who experience child loss in pregnancy or after their baby is born. They fundraised with the aim to buy Cuddle Cots for the families in the area who can use them in order to have precious time with their baby in the hospital and or at home who had been born sleeping.
Members of the community midwifery team and Lead Midwife for hospital and community in Southern sector of the Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust), greeted the Fight for Life volunteers and accepted the two cuddle cots they purchase through their incredible fund raising efforts.
Mrs Brenda McCabe Lead Midwife thanked Justin Cathal and Ryan who attended representing the Fight For Life Charity for both of the invaluable meaningful equipment which will be available for many families during a time of great heartache. Brenda said:
“Having a cuddle cot helps the families have longer time with their precious much loved babies who are only able to remain with them as a family for such a short time.
“Baby loss is something that every parent would not wish to experience however sadly it is a reality for some families. Instead of having a baby to nurture to love plan for their future and dreams they have to prepare to say good bye prematurely. Having a cuddle cot gives them more hours and days to say good bye.”
“On behalf of the Western Trust and Bereaved Family’s I wish to thank the Fight For Life charity with immense gratitude for their kindness and generosity which will make a difference to bereaved families in the local area. Thank you.”
