The countdown is on to this year’s Regional campaign connecting World Suicide Prevention Day on the 10th September to World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2026. The five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland alongside the Public Health Agency (PHA) and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) have worked in partnership to develop a campaign called ‘Feeling Anxious?’
Over the 4 weeks the campaign aims to reach individuals and communities across the region to raise public awareness of anxiety and the support available. By working together, we can encourage people to recognise when they are feeling worried or anxious, learn practical ways to cope with these feelings, and seek help when they need it.
Feeling anxious is a common experience for many people. A healthy level of anxiety can help you prepare for important tasks. Sometimes feelings of anxiety can be hard to control and they can impact on how you live your life. This campaign highlights things you can try that might help and where to find more support, if you need it.
Looking after our mental health is not something we should only do when we are feeling down, it’s something we should proactively maintain, just like our physical health.
