We are celebrating the success of our Allied Health Professionals in the annual Advancing Healthcare Awards Northern Ireland held in Belfast recently.
Congratulations to Kerry Quinn who won the Rising Star award. Kerry, a dietitian based in Derry/ Londonderry, was nominated by Linda Irwin, Dietetic Team Lead, Altnagelvin Hospital for her work with acute patients attending Altnagelvin Hospital and their families making a real difference to their lives.
The Award for Outstanding Leadership was won by a regional project including Joy Whelan, Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Dietitian based at Altnagelvin Hospital.
Joy Whelan explained:
“The project team comprised gastroenterology dietitians regionally who developed Dietitian Led Coeliac Clinics and Irritable Bowel Syndrome Services in line with Regional Care Pathways to reduce the gastroenterology waiting lists and allowed redistribution of Consultant care to more urgent cases.”
Eileen Dolan, Interim Head of Allied Health Professions at the Western Trust said:
“I am delighted with the success of our incredible AHP staff working across the Western Trust. It is a privilege to work along with such dedicated, innovative and committed healthcare professionals who continue to provide the highest standard of care and support to our patients and clients. Well done to all our AHP team winners, we are very proud of your achievements!”
