Cardiology Team at the South West Acute Hospital celebrating success in the NI Healthcare Awards 2025

We are celebrating the success of our Cardiology Team at the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen who won the Cardiology Team of the Year in the annual Northern Ireland Healthcare Awards 2025 held at the Europa Hotel, Belfast last week.

Professor Ronan O’Hare, Deputy Medical Director at the Western Trust said:

“Congratulations to Professor Monica Monaghan, Consultant Cardiologist at the South West Acute Hospital, her medical colleagues and nursing colleagues led by Sr Lisa Cadden on their well-deserved recognition in transforming patient care with innovative cardiovascular-renal-metabolic (CVRM).  I am extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our cardiology team at the South West Acute Hospital who strive every day to provide the best treatment and care for our patients and their families.  Well done everyone!”

Professor Monica Monaghan, Consultant Cardiologist said:

“We were delighted that SWAH Cardiology were recognised for our work in the cardiovascular Renal Metabolic space.  I am grateful for the dedication of our multidisciplinary team and the positive impact they have on our population health and aligned with the Minister of Health “Shift-Left” vision.”

Also congratulations to our Pharmacy Cancer Services and Aseptic Team who were shortlisted in the Pharmacy Team of the Year Award and the North West Cancer Centre Multidisciplinary Team who were shortlisted for an Advancements in Oncology Award.
