Our Human Milk Bank Co-ordinator Elizabeth (Liz) Bailie welcomed a charity motorcycle group Bikers Ride Out for Prems (premature babies) who are completing a four day tour around Ireland ‘Miles for Smiles’ to raise money to purchase medical equipment for Neonatal Units across the Island of Ireland.
Liz explains: “The Bikers Ride Out for Prems’ charity motorcycle group first visited the South West Acute Hospital in 2019 and we are delighted to welcome them back to beautiful Fermanagh this week!
“The South West Acute Hospital was the first Hospital in Northern Ireland to benefit from this charity group. This year the group have donated a new freezer for safely storing Human Donor Breast Milk to the Human Milk Bank. A breast pump and Incubator blankets to the Neonatal Unit and a breast pump to the Maternity Unit.”
Liz continued: “We are very grateful for the generosity and support of people in donating to this worthy cause. Thank you to the motor cyclists and their friends and support vehicles for meeting up with bikers and to the PSNI for escorting everyone safely to the Hospital. We wish you a safe and enjoyable onward journey.”
