Over the coming weeks, a number of wards at Altnagelvin Hospital will temporarily relocate within the site to support essential improvement works and ensure the continued delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. The ward moves will take place between 1 and 8 July and will remain in place for approximately six to seven months. In addition the new Care of our Older People in patient beds which were located at Ward 5 will move permanently to the newly refurbished Ward 5 site at Waterside Hospital on the Gransha site.
Patients and visitors are advised that wards will continue to be known by their current ward numbers, with their new location clearly signposted. Ward telephone numbers will remain unchanged and move with each ward. All services will continue to operate throughout this period, and every effort will be made to minimise disruption for patients, families and visitors.
