The Western Trust Community and Acute Paediatrics Service is celebrating National Children’s Nurses Day (30 June 2026).
Emily-Guilmant-Farry, Community Paediatrics Service Manager at the Western Trust said:
“Today, we proudly mark our first ever National Children’s Nurses Day celebration event. A significant milestone and an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contribution of children’s nurses across the Western Trust and beyond.”
Emily continued:
“Children’s nurses play a vital role in caring for babies, children and young people, often supporting them and their families through some of the most complex and challenging situations. Their expertise, compassion and unwavering commitment ensure that high-quality, child-centred care is delivered across a wide range of settings, from hospitals to community and specialist services.
“This inaugural day also reflects growing national recognition of the unique and highly skilled role children’s nurses play within healthcare, and highlights the importance of continuing to champion and strengthen children’s nursing services for the future.
Emily added:
“As we mark this landmark occasion, we take time to shine a light on the dedication, professionalism and kindness shown by our children’s nursing teams every day. Their impact extends far beyond clinical care—making a lasting difference to the experiences, wellbeing and outcomes of children, young people and their families across our communities. A huge thank you to our children’s nursing staff and multi-disciplinary colleagues for their dedication, care and support to children, young people and their families. We hope everyone enjoys the celebrations.”
