Industrial Action Update | Thursday 25 June & Monday 29 June
Consultants and Specialty and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors across Northern Ireland will take part in 24-hour industrial action from 7am on Thursday 25 June until 7am on Friday 26 June 2026.
Resident doctors (previously known as junior doctors) will also take part in 24-hour industrial action on Monday 29 June.
We are expecting some disruption to our services on both days and have activated our planning arrangements to ensure patient safety and essential services are maintained during this time.
All patients with scheduled appointments on Thursday 25 June and Monday 29 June should attend as planned unless they have been directly contacted to advise that their appointment has been postponed.
Our focus during the industrial action period will be on patient safety. A protocol has been agreed to support in-patient and clinically critical services. Please only attend our Emergency Department if you need urgent medical or mental health help that cannot be supported by other healthcare services.
