Our Health Improvement Equality & Involvement Department are delighted to support Men’s Health Week which begins on the Monday before Father’s Day and ends on Father’s Day itself. This year’s Men’s Health Week will run from Monday 15th until Sunday 21st June 2026 with the theme for the island of Ireland ‘One Step at a Time, progress not perfection’
The week is celebrated worldwide with the hope of;
- Increasing awareness of preventable health problems for males of all age groups
- Support both Men & Boy’s to engage in healthier lifestyle choices
- Encourage early detection and treatment of health difficulties or concerns among males
Ellie Leonard, Mental Health & Suicide Prevention, Health Improvement Equality & Involvement at the Western Trust said:
“As part of Men’s Health Week in partnership with Causeway Coast & Glens we are hosting a Men’s Health & Wellbeing Event on Thursday 11th June in Roe Valley Leisure Centre 11am-2pm. This free event will be a great opportunity for local men & their families to come together and take part in a Health and Well-being day focusing on Men’s Health. We have a number of organisations attending throughout the day who will provide lots of insights, knowledge and experience on various aspects of men’s health related illness and how to support and empower men to look after their physical, emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
“There will be free health checks including Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Blood sugars and refreshments will be served throughout the day.”
