Our Arthroplasty Team, based at Altnagelvin Hospital, is celebrating being awarded as a silver level National Joint Registry (NJR) Quality Data Provider for 2025!
Nichola Cairns, Assistant Nursing Services Manager at the Western Trust said:
Congratulations to the Arthroplasty Team on receiving silver accreditation in the NJR Quality Data Provider Awards 2025. The Arthroplasty Team work as part of a multidisciplinary team of orthopaedic consultants, registrars, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to diagnose, treat and manage joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. I am extremely proud of the excellent work done by our staff and the impact this makes on our patients who undergo surgical, orthopaedic procedures at Altnagelvin Hospital every day.
“Meeting these NJR targets requires a strong effort department wide and this award is a way of recognition by NJR to thank all staff who have worked hard to achieve compliance targets during the 2024/25 data quality audit year. Well done to everyone involved!”

“We are delighted to have received silver accreditation in recognition of the continued hard work and dedication of our Arthroplasty Team. Thank you to everyone for your support and efforts to help us achieve this level of award. We received a Bronze award for the 2023/24 audit cycle and this reflects further improvement in our performance.
“Also thank you to all of our pre-operative staff, theatre staff as well as all of our operating staff who do so much work to support our NJR data collection.”
