Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in partnership with the Western Trust Ethnically Diverse Staff Network, hosted a vibrant Family Fun Event in St Macartin’s Hall, Enniskillen on Sunday 23rd November, bringing together staff, families and community partners to celebrate diversity and strengthen good relations across the area.

The event welcomed colleagues from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. It provided an opportunity for staff to build meaningful connections outside the workplace, and to showcase the richness and diversity that exists within the Western Trust’s workforce.

Visitors enjoyed an afternoon of family activities, and had an opportunity to meet with representatives of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council as well as PSNI Enniskillen Neighbourhood Team, reflecting the Network’s aim of promoting inclusion, understanding and positive relationships across the community.

Speaking at the event, Roshin Rahman, Chair of the Western Trust Ethnically Diverse Staff Network, said:

“We are proud to create a space where staff, families and partners can come together and celebrate the diversity that makes our community so strong. This event is about connection, belonging, and recognising the many cultures represented within our workforce.”

Councillor Barry McElduff, Chair of Fermanagh Omagh District Council added;

“This Family Fun Afternoon is about more than enjoyment – it is about fostering connection, promoting inclusion, and celebrating the rich cultural diversity that strengthens our District. Through collaboration with the Western Trust’s Ethnically Diverse Staff Network, we are proud to create spaces where differences are embraced and everyone feels a true sense of belonging. Together, we are building a more inclusive, welcoming, and connected community – values that Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is deeply committed to.”

The Family Fun Event highlighted ongoing good relations work within both the Western Trust and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, demonstrating their shared commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming and culturally aware environments for staff and residents alike.

The Network extends its thanks to all partners and attendees who contributed to a successful day of community spirit and celebration.
