We are delighted to announce the appointment of a design team to lead the development of the new Strabane Health and Care Centre.
Funded by the Derry ~Londonderry and Strabane City Region City Deal and Inclusive Future Fund, and the Department of Health NI, this project forms part of the wider Strabane Town Centre Regeneration Programme.
The contract has been awarded to Arcadis, with its partner Kennedy Fitzgerald Architects.
Commenting on the appointment of the design team, Western Trust Chief Executive Neil Guckian said:
“I am pleased that we have reached this important milestone in what will be transformational for health and social care in Strabane and beyond. The development of this specialised facility will enable the Trust and our HSC partners to deliver advanced integrated primary and community care services throughout the catchment area.”
Dr Maura O’Neill, Director of Community and Older Peoples Services for the Western Trust and Senior Responsible Officer for the project said:
“The co-location of Western Trust services and GP practices within a single, purpose built health and wellbeing centre facility will mark a major step forward in improving access and ensuring better outcomes for patients across Strabane and beyond.”
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Cllr Ruairí McHugh said:
