The Western Trust was proud to attend the Care Opinion 5 years celebration event hosted by Public Health Agency in Riddle Hall Belfast on 16th September 2025.
Staff representatives from each Trust along with The Health Minister, colleagues from Patient Client Council, Department of Health and Care Opinion CEO Fraser Gilmore.
This was an action pack event with key note speak Prue Thimbley a digital storyteller from Wales who opened the event.
Michelle Scott Patient Client Experience Lead for the Trust said:
“It is great to see so many people here prioritising the importance of the service user voice in Health and Social Care. Today marks an important milestone in Northern Ireland. For the last 5 years Health and Social Care staff have been listening to the voice of the service user making over 589 changes regionally to date in Northern Ireland. Over 28,000 stories have been received containing feedback about Health and social care service in Northern Ireland. Care Opinion continues to grow and further embed into ours services which I believe has impacted our services very positively.”
Lisa King Patient Client Experience Facilitator for the Western Trust said:
“It was a pleasure to attend the Celebration Event. With value in every story evident. Listening, learning and acting on feedback within the Care Opinion platform, resulting in continuous service improvement within Healthcare, proving vital in shaping our services. I am delighted with the opportunity to support Michelle in obtaining feedback via the Care Opinion platform, evidencing the importance of service user input within Health Care settings”.
