Our Lead Nurse for Public Health Susan Rogers welcomed a charity motorcycle group Bikers Ride Out for Prems (premature babies) who are completing a four day tour around Ireland ‘Miles for Smiles’.
There are 20 bikes and a trike visiting 11 hospitals with the aim to raise money to purchase medical equipment for Neonatal Units across the Island of Ireland. For the past nine years Bikers Ride Out for Prems have included the Human Milk Bank in their contributions.
Susan Rogers, Lead Nurse for Public Health said:
“We are delighted to welcome back the charity Bikers Ride Out for Prems’ group to the South West Acute Hospital, Enniskillen this week.
“We are very grateful for the continued support from this group who have made generous donations to the Human Milk Bank, Maternity and Neonatal Units at the Hospital over the past number of years.
This year the group have donated 13 specialist cold bags which allow us to safely transport the milk by maintaining the cold temperature required.
“Thank you to the motor cyclists and their friends and support vehicles for meeting up with bikers and to the PSNI for escorting everyone safely to the Hospital. We wish you a safe and enjoyable onward journey.”
