Our Service
The Eating Disorder Service is a specialist service which offers assessment and treatment to people with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa/ Bulimia Nervosa.
We provide an outpatient service for people age 18-65 years, both male and female. Our service is available within the areas of Enniskillen, Omagh, Strabane, Derry/Londonderry and Limavady. We provide outreach clinics in all areas if you are unable to travel.
Those under the age of 18 years can seek referral to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
Getting a referral
Referrals are accepted from GPs and other health care professionals, however, we will ask GP’s to carry out a medical assessment before initial appointment and if necessary any further medical monitoring.
What treatment involves
Treatment will usually involve a number of regular outpatient appointments. Eating Disorder Therapist will agree a treatment plan with the person attending the service. Some people may find it helpful to have family members involved in parts of their treatment and this is something that can be discussed with the person attending service.
Our Team
We are an experienced multi- disciplinary team of Therapists, a Dietitian and an Occupational Therapist (OT). Our Therapists focus on how thoughts impact actions and what keep the Eating Disorder going, while our Dietitian and OT can support improved nutrition and daily function as needed. Care plans are based on the needs of the individual who is attending the service.
