Mr Sam Pollock, OBE took up post on 1 May 2019 following the retirement of former Chairman, Mr Niall Birthistle.
Sam has been engaged in the Criminal Justice System since 1969 and worked in various positions in prisons across Northern Ireland including various senior roles in the Probation Service until he was appointed Chief Probation Officer in South Wales for 7 years. He returned to Northern Ireland as CEO of the Police Ombudsman’s Office at the end of 2000, serving there for 11 years followed by 3 years of being the CEO of the Police Board.
While Sam is conscious that his experience has not been in health, he looks forward to serving the people of the West.
